There is always something wonderful happening here! That’s our motto at the Spring Lake Community House and it rings true every year, especially when the summer is in full swing!
We offer a variety of different dance classes throughout the summer to all ages; children and adults alike! Your dancer can hone their skills with classes such as Ballet, Tap, and Jazz—at all levels—and strengthen their bodies and their skills with our Strength and Conditioning classes. Your littlest ones can also get in on the fun, with tap/ballet/jazz combination classes offered all summer long!
This summer we are offering new speciality classes, which include Commercial Jazz, Princess Camp and two end-of-summer intensives in Choreography and Improvisation! Adults can enjoy our Adult Tap class coming up in our next session (July 10-13; 17-20) and learn some new skills or brush up on some old ones!
Our dance classes run in four sessions over the summer through the course of two weeks from Monday–Thursday. Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to reconnect with old friends from the school year classes, or make some new friends all while strengthening and refining your dance skills! For more information on our schedule and the different levels and speciality class we offer visit our website.
If you see yourself as a soon-to-be broadway star we have just the camp for you! Our Children’s Theatre Workshop runs from July 11–August 23 and is perfect for the child who wants to experience what it’s like being a part of a show! On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10–1pm your child will be exposed to one hour of acting, one hour of singing, and one hour of dancing while they rehearse to put on a show at the end of the camp! They’ll have the full broadway experience complete with costumes, lights, and sound. And best of all, they get to make new friends who share their same passion for performing! Don’t miss out on this fun opportunity! For more information visit our website.
We pride ourselves on a non-threatening, inclusive learning space for both our dance and workshop students. All skill levels are welcome here, whether you are just starting out or are a seasoned pro!
Registration for both our dance classes and theatre workshop can be found here!
Don’t forget, the theatre is nothing without an audience! Tickets for our 2017–2018 season are now on sale, with our first two shows coming up this summer: Annie, opening July 6, and The Music Man, opening August 14!
Annie tells the story of a girl who will do anything to find her parents. Left on the steps of New York City’s Municipal Orphanage with the wicked Miss Hannigan, Annie escapes and finds herself in the heart of the city. She meets a whole cast of characters along the way, including a loveable billionaire, a friendly stray dog, and even the President of the United States! You do not want to miss our first show of the season! This family friendly hit includes the popular songs “Tomorrow,” “Hard Knock Life,” and “Maybe.” Tickets are available online, over the phone at 732-449-4530, or in person at 300 Madison Avenue, Spring Lake from 11-5pm Monday–Saturday!
Our second show of the season, and our last show of the summer, is sure to be a hit! The Music Man comes to the Spring Lake Theatre stage in August, and tickets are now available! This is a show you can bring the whole family to for an end of the summer treat! With songs like “You’ve Got Trouble” and “The Wells Fargo Wagon,” you won’t be able to help yourself from dancing along with our wonderful cast! Follow con-man Harold Hill as he rolls into the town of River City, where he plans to trick the townspeople into purchasing instruments from him to form a band. Once he has the money, Harold plans to hightail it out of there; however, things become more complicated when he meets the town librarian, Marian Paroo. Suddenly his decision to take the money and skip town doesn’t seem so simple anymore. Tickets are now available on our website, over the phone at 732-449-4530, and in person 11-5pm Monday–Saturday!
As you can see, there really is always something wonderful happening here! We hope to see you around our wonderful building this summer, whether that be as a dancer, performer, or audience member!
